Dr. Maryam Majd

Dr. Maryam Majd is an experienced psychologist with over 25 years in the field of psychology. She earned her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology in the United States and holds both a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in general psychology. Fluent in three languages and deeply familiar with diverse cultures, Dr. Majd brings a compassionate and inclusive perspective to her work.
Her early research on substance abuse earned multiple awards, and her later studies on children and adolescents in schools and neighborhoods received wide recognition. A strong advocate for early prevention, Dr. Majd believes that emotional and mental health begins in early childhood.
She is the author of a 10-book children’s prevention series, designed to teach kids how to recognize and protect themselves from abuse and vulnerability. The first book, The Sun, is available on Amazon for children aged 4–8. Upcoming titles include Charlie, Why Tell No, Janet Is at the School, Neighborhood, and Who Is Your Friend. In addition, she authored two books on substance abuse and treatment in 2011 and has produced several educational documentaries on YouTube.
Dr. Majd has written numerous articles and is a member of both the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Virginia Counselors Association (VCA). She frequently leads seminars and workshops focused on parenting, mental wellness, and personal development.
Now based in Virginia with her family, Dr. Majd works as a high-level psychological coach, helping individuals and families grow through love, trust, healthy communication, and emotional intimacy. She guides parents to become positive role models while also coaching teens to discover their talents and prepare for higher education.
In addition, she supports individuals in managing their relationships within society and navigating their careers with clarity and purpose. Through her guidance, people learn to build confidence, handle life’s challenges, and create balance between their personal, family, and professional lives.
Here’s a simple and powerful mantra inspired by Dr. Majd’s philosophy that “people’s pupils are different from each other,” meaning everyone sees and experiences life differently
